Henry and Adam=Awesome
Last week Mattie and I each took a day with an assistant manager, either Henry or Adam, and then flip flopped the next day. While shadowing them, I learned about schedule making, pay roll, emergency procedures, and hiring. Adam and I sat down to finish the fall schedule and then determined how many student employees he would need to fill the gaps. It is a tough job to get students started because there is little to no time for training (most students arrive a few days before school starts) and the dining halls are in full swing the first day of school. The past week or so the dining halls have been very busy with Freshman College on campus, so it's nice to see a little more action during the breakfast and lunch rush. Yesterday Mattie and I had the day to work on our projects. We went to a cute little bakery and enjoyed ourselves literally the best lattes we have had since being here! I finished designing the menu for the banquet and we got a good chunk of the ACI porject done. We are hoping to finish the dining halls today so that we can begin going back though the lines to make sure everything is accounted for.
