This past week was spent preparing for our presentation of our projects, which will be next Wednesday. We finally got a chance to film our movie for our food allergy training module, and as we began to put everything together, we quickly realized how much work goes into video editing. Hopefully we can get everything done in time for next week!

We also were informed that they would like us to serve some of the dishes that we would like to include in our theme meal at our presentation, so we needed to test the recipes before deciding to serve them next week. We were able to find some space to work in the Central Production Kitchen here at Purdue, which caters all events held in the residence halls and also supplies all of the On-The-Go stations. On-The-Go is where students can use their dining dollars to buy pre-packaged foods and take them with them, as opposed to having to stay to eat in the dining courts. After trying out all of the food, we made some minor adjustments to the recipes, and will, hopefully, be able to prepare them without any glitches for the presentation!
Here's what the menu will look like:
- Strawberry Macadamia Salad
- Nsima (cornstarch and water - it's a staple in Malawi, where the book takes place)
- Mango Chicken (spicy!)
- Pumpkin Walnut Bread
- Malawi Shandy (non-alcoholic, of course)
After the busy and stressful week of trying to get things prepared, Brittany and I were able to spend our weekend in Chicago. The weather was beautiful and we had an awesome time exploring the city!

One more week left! We'll have to finish editing our food allergy presentation and put together all of our theme meal information, then it will be time to go! I hope everyone else is enjoying their summer as much as I am. I can't believe how quickly the time has gone by.
Last post next week!
