KU: Shifting Gears

For the second half of the program at KU, we're switching gears and focusing on project work.  The projects Bethany and I were assigned are:

  • A marketing project including gathering content for social media, re-writing dining website information, and creating monthly wellness themes
  • Helping get the newly-renovated North College Cafe up and running
  • Conducting a survey of the full time dining staff regarding training
  • Article reviews from food service and management magazines
It may look like a short list, but it's a good amount of work.  Bethany and I have spent this week and last week on the survey and marketing project.  We hope to have the marketing project done by Friday; we have one more location for the survey that we will check off next Monday.

For the marketing project, we were given copies of some of the questions on a student survey conducted last school year.  It was amazing to see some of the responses . . . KU students don't know how good they have it!  We're hoping to make it clearer to them.  I've enjoyed the marketing project so much that I'm going to look into minoring in it.

After everything KU has given me, it's been really great to have a chance to give something back.
